Reaching people the system moves past
JSR Foundation exists for the moment between a phone call about someone in crisis and that person being safe, cared for and treated with dignity.
Our Mission
To respond quickly and without judgement to people facing homelessness, medical crisis or abandonment — and to connect them with verified shelters, hospitals and support networks so that no one is left to face a crisis alone.
Our Vision
A community where every person in crisis is seen, sheltered and supported — where dignity isn't conditional, and where "reason to smile" is something we help create, one person at a time.
JSR Foundation began with a simple, urgent idea: the gap between someone being in crisis and someone actually helping them is often just a phone call and a willing volunteer.
What started as a small group responding to calls about people living unsheltered has grown into an organized effort — working alongside local police, hospitals and shelter homes to make sure people in crisis are not just noticed, but actually cared for.
We don't run large institutions. We run a fast, trusted network — one that shows up, coordinates the right support, and stays involved until someone is genuinely safe.
Support this workWhat happens after a call comes in
Every case moves through the same sequence — the order matters, because each step depends on the one before it.
1. Reached
A call comes in — from the public, police or a partner shelter — about someone in crisis on the street.
2. Sheltered
Our volunteers coordinate immediate, verified shelter placement so the person is safe the same day.
3. Cared For
We arrange medical attention, medicines and regular meals for as long as they're needed.
4. Reintegrated
Where possible, we trace family and support the person toward independent, dignified living.
